Karen Bhartu, MSc. PT, BSc. Kin, Vestibular Therapist
Karen Bhartu received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, after which she went back for further education and completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at UBC. Karen has also completed Vestibular Rehabilitation: An introduction to assessment and management; as well as Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Base Course at Emory University. She has had the pleasure of working with several sports teams ranging from soccer to gymnastics, and specializes in working with athletes for sport specific injury prevention and management. In her leisure time, Karen lives an active lifestyle including volleyball, running and swimming.
Michele Aldrich (Owner), BSc. PT, Vestibular Therapist
Michele graduated in 1983 from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education and Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Post-Graduate education has earned her a certificate in the area if Vestibular Therapy from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Michele Specializes in the treatment of sports and orthopedic injuries as well as Balance and Dizziness disorders. She brings 33 years of expertise to the Physical Therapy field and is the owner of Planet Ice Physiotherapy and co-owner of Eagle Ridge Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy Clinic in Coquitlam.
Tae Il Yoon, MPT, AFCI, Vestibular Therapist
Tae received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia (2009). Shortly afterwards, he went back to UBC and completed his Masters of Physical Therapy. He has completed numerous post-graduate courses which include acupuncture (AFCI), manual therapy Orthopaedic Levels 1, 2, 3; and Introduction to the Mulligan Concept. Tae has also taken several vestibular rehabilitation courses which include the following: Vestibular Rehabilitation: An Introduction to Assessment and Management; Vestibular Rehabilitation: Review & Advances; Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Base Course (Emory University) and Advances in Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Renewal Course (Duke University). Tae is also a certified Gunn IMS practitioner through UBC. He specializes in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. As an athlete himself, Tae understands the importance of having proper biomechanics in order to optimally treat and prevent sporting injuries. Tae lives an active lifestyle and enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding, and going to the gym. He also plays on multiple soccer and hockey teams. With whatever time he has left, he volunteers at local sporting events and tournaments and runs marathons and triathlons.
Iveta Janickova, BSc. PT, *Active Rehabilitation/ OR1 Program
Iveta graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1997 with her degree in Physiotherapy. For the past twelve years, Iveta has been enjoying treating patients within the occupational/active rehabilitation programs. She has a particular interest in ergonomics and functional capacity evaluations and has had the opportunity to perform thousands of assessments in a wide range of settings. In addition, she has gained extensive experience developing injury management programs while working with a variety of employers in the industrial sector. She also enjoys working part time at Royal Columbian Hospital treating mainly post-surgical and respiratory patients. In her spare time, Iveta loves to hike, trail-run with her dog, and travel.
